The 7th ASEAN Para Games kicked off in Nay Pyi Taw of Myanmar on Wednesday.
A total of 10 sports events out of 12 started on the first day of the games while the opening ceremony was held on a grand scale on Tuesday. [ A total of 339 gold, 339 silver and 359 bronze medals are up for grab.
A total of 1,482 athletes from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and host Myanmar attended the Games featuring archery, athletics, Boocia, blindfold chess, football 7-a-side, football 5-a-side, goal ball, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis, volleyball sitting, and wheelchair basketball.
The 7th ASEAN Para Games will run until Jan. 20. (Cihan/Xinhua)
