JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Police say Indonesia's anti-terror squad has arrested eight more suspected militants accused of involvement in a plot to attack Myanmar's embassy.
Jakarta police spokesman Lt. Col. Rikwanto says Khoirul Ikhwan was arrested late Tuesday in Bekasi on the outskirts of Jakarta. He says three other men were caught hours later in the same area.
He says police seized two guns and ammunition from the suspects.
Separately, police said Wednesday they arrested four other suspects in eastern Jakarta, including a former convicted terrorist. Two pistols and ammunition were seized from them.
Rikwanto said the arrest of another man on Sunday led police to the new suspects.
In May, police said they foiled a plot to bomb Myanmar's embassy to protest that country's treatment of Muslims.
