AFC: Amman (Aug. 30, 2013) AFC Womens Asian Cup 2014 qualifiers Jordan have scheduled two friendly matches against Laos as they ready themselves for participation in the AFF (ASEAN Football Federation) Womens Championship.
Jordan, who booked their ticket to the 2014 AFC Womens Asian Cup finals with a 4-0 triumph over Uzbekistan that saw them top qualifying Group A with a 100% record following victories over Lebanon and Kuwait, will take on the Laotian ladies on September 3 and 5 before heading to Myanmar for the regional tournament which takes place in Mandalay from September 9 to 22.
Jordan, 2010 AFC Womens Asian Cup champions Australia and FIFA Womens World Cup holders Japan have been specially invited for the ten-team tournament which also features defending champions and 2014 AFC Womens Asian Cup hosts Vietnam and fellow continental qualifiers Thailand and Myanmar as well as Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Laos.
The Jordanians are in Group A alongside Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia while Group B consists of Japan, Laos, the Philippines, Indonesia and hosts Myanmar.
The AFC Womens Asian Cup will be played in Ho Chi Minh City from May 14 to 25 next year. The top five finishers in Vietnam will qualify for the 2015 FIFA Womens World Cup to be held in Canada.
