Mutual understanding and cooperation between peoples essential to sustained ...


In an exclusive interview with the Irrawaddy Magazine, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar highlighted the importance of sound people to people exchanges to a healthy and stable bilateral relationship.


On the morning of 14 August, Ambassador Yang Houlan met the magazine editor U Kyaw Zwa Moe when they had an interesting exchange on China's relations with Myanmar.



Yang said that the China-Myanmar relationship has come a long way and is still in good shape as evidenced by frequent high-level visits, expanding economic cooperation, close coordination over international issues and increasing people to people exchanges at all levels.


The Ambassador says that China supports Myanmar take a path of development that conforms to its national conditions and sees a stable and prosperous Myanmar beneficial for China.


Yang said he received strong message of support for the continued development of good-neighbourly relations with China by people from different circles of Myanmar ever since his arrival in Yangon over four months ago.


Over time, China's efforts to engage the Myanmar people will be recognized, the Ambassador concluded.
