Hyundai opens car showroom in Yangon

South Korea-based Hyundai Motor has opened a car showroom and service centre in Yangon on August 31, according to its local partner Fortune International Limited.
The 'S3 Centre' by Hyundai Motor on Insein Road in Mayangon Township will display Hyundai brand new cars, sell original spare parts and provide servicing for Hyundai vehicles.
"We will sell Hyundai's brand new cars as the sole distributor in Myanmar. This S3 Centre is both a Hyundai car showroom and a service centre that also sell Hyundai spare parts. We have planned to open car showrooms in other major cities too," said Mr. Mya Han, CEO of Fortune Kolao International.
KALAO Holding (Myanmar) and Fortune International Ltd have joined hands to act as Hyundai's local distributor in Myanmar, importing and selling Hyundai cars here.
"Motor market is progressively competitive in Myanmar. We are proud to participate in Myanmar market," said Mr. Kim Hoo-Keun, Head of Hyundai Motor Company Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters.
The newly opened S3 Centre in Yangon is Hyundai's largest car showroom in Asia-Pacific region, and it covers an area of 4500 square feet.
Hyundai's local partner Fortune International Ltd is a conglomerate engaging in trading, construction, telecommunication, breeding and livestock, and real estate. The company also imports several kinds of Korean products into Myanmar.
In the near future, Japan-based Toyota, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, US-based Ford, Chevrolet, and Germany-based Mercedes-Benz are also going to open car showrooms and service centres in Myanmar.
