Thailand boosts soft drink exports

Wednesday September 25 2013

Thai soft drink exports to four of the five largest destinations increased significantly in January-July 2013, with only Myanmar recording a declining demand.

Shipments to Vietnam alone increased by 39 million litres, compared with the same period last year. The country has now become the largest importer of Thai soft drinks, and has a 22% share of Thailand's exports. Myanmar, where demand had been growing until last year, experienced a slight decrease in imports, which were just below 60 mln litres as of July. With a market share of 13%, Myanmar is now Thailand's third-largest customer, after Cambodia (15% share).
