MYANMAR IN NEGOTIATION WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS FOR CONSERVATION OF KHAKABORAZI MOUTAIN

Myanmar is in talks with international organizations for conservation
of Khakaborazi mountain, the second highest terrain, in Myanmar,
according to the Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry.

The ministry is currently in cooperation with US-based WCS, an
international environmental conservation NGO, reported the local
newspaper Yangon Times.

"International organizations have been invited for conservation of
Khakaborazi. Some organizations have expressed interests," Zaw Win, an
official of the ministry told the Yangon Times.

Khakaborazi is included in 132 key biodiversity areas in Myanmar.

A host of biodiversity and other resources have been accommodated in
the national garden.

The National Garden is located in Putao District aand has the area of
1472 acres.
