Myanmar's largest trade partner China has targeted 50 percent boost of border trade between the two neighbouring countries.

The Yunnan deputy governor made the comment in 13th Myanmar-China trade fair on December 6-8 in Ruili of China.

The Ruili border trade camp constitutes 20 percent of the entire border trade between Myanmar and China.

Ruili is the gateway of Myanmar produce to the Southeast Asian countries and the major trading city in Myanmar-China border trade.

"The border trade increases each year. The 105-mile Muse trade zone is something that has yet to develop," a local merchant told the Voice.

The Shan state government is planning to implement a special economic zone in Muse which is a major city in border trade with China.
