Globe Trekker features Myanmar's cultural diversity









YANGON - The adventure television show, Globe Trekker will feature Myanmar's most prominent destinations as well as show many traditional customs from the country's various ethnic groups.


The show explores Yangon, Mandalay, Inlay, Bagan and Rakhine regions and has been hailed as a great chance to air some of Myanmar's cultural riches to a global audience.


"The program aired Myanmar's traditional customs and ethnic people. It is very valuable for the country for a famous show to feature Myanmar. It can be beneficial for tourism as well as giving the audience a chance to know more about Myanmar," said Wira, a local film director who participated in the travel entertainment program.


Presenter Megan McCormick started their journey in Yangon featuring the famous Shwedagon Pagoda. They then went to Inlay Lake where they shot the beautiful scenes of the region and its customs. They also interviewed ethnic Padaung communities who are famous for wearing neck rings.


The programme visited Chin State and produced a chapter on tattoo culture among Chin women folk. They ended in Rakhine region with the scenic beauty of Ngapali Beach.
