MYANMAR WUSHU BAGS TWO GOLDS

Myanmar Wushu team bagged two golds and a silver on Saturday to boost the hosts' chance of topping the medal tally.


Kyaw Zin Thit and Aung Sithu grabbed their golds and Sandi Oo secured a silver on Saturday event in Wunna Theiddhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, according to a Xinhua report.


Vice-president Dr Sai Mauk Kham was among the attendee and awarded the winners in Dulian contest including the gold medalist Kyaw Zin Thit.


According to Xinhua, Myanmar fielded 27 players in the event being participated by 127 athletes from Southeast Asian countries.


Myanmar has targeted eight golds from Wushu and a hundred golds in the entire SEA games.


"I am very happy about my gold medal because this SEA Games is my last and I am going to retire after this," Aung Sithu, who won his first gold, told to Xinhua.


Myanmar is hosting the first-ever SEA Games in 44 years in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and Ngwehsaung beach.
