Perlas PH settles for silver after ripping Myanmar in women's hoops

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines settled for the silver medal following an 80-31 beatdown of host Myanmar in the 27th Southeast Asian Games women's basketball tournament Monday at the Zayyar Thiri Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw.

Perlas ng Pilipinas finished with a 3-1 card.

Thailand went on to defend the crown after winning all of its matches including a 75-36 rout of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Rower Nestor Cordova gave the country its 12th gold medal while Eric Panique took the bronze medal in men's marathon.

The Philippines remains in seventh place with a 12-17-23 gold-silver-bronze medal tally while Thailand leads with a 57-44-46 haul.
