Myanmar's authorities have seized 9.7 million narcotic drugs by November last year, according to anti-narcotic police force.
The illegal drugs entered into the country mostly from Myanmar-China border, also from Myanmar-Thailand and Myanmar-Laos borders, police said.
"This year, most of stimulant drugs came in from Myanmar-China border, and there are also flows of illegal drugs from other borders such as Myanmar-Thailand and Myanmar-Laos. We are in continuous fight against the illegal drugs, enlarging the anti-narcotic police force to widen their activities," said a police officer from the force.
There were also drug seizures made across the country including the Yangon Region, but most of the seizures were made in the border areas, according to official data from Myanmar Police Force (MPF).
The seizures mean there is still higher market demand for illegal drugs in the country, said an official from Myanmar Anti-narcotics Association (Central).
MPF said it seized more than 18 million illegal drugs in 2012 across the country.
