NGWE SAUNG, BURMA - JANUARY 26: Tourists walk along the almost empty beach in front of the Bay of Bengal Resort on Ngwe Saung Beach on January 26, 2014 in Ngwe Saung, Burma. Ngwe Saung Beach, located in the Ayeyarwady Division of Burma, has been undergoing rapid development in preparation for the South East Asia Games and the tourism boom occurring throughout the country. According to displaced Ayeyarwady region residents and the local news organizations much of the land used to build the resorts was taken by the Burmese government through a series of land grabs in 2000. The large stretch of beach has almost 10 miles packed with luxury resorts and bungalows with prices ranging from $35 to the Ngwe Saung Yacht club offering accommodation for up to $300 in a night. Many of these rooms remain empty with only a minuscule number of tourists enjoying the untouched beauty Ngwe Saung has to offer. (Photo by Lauren DeCicca/Getty Images)
