Policeman beaten to death by Bengalis in Myanmar









A policeman was killed in a brutal attack by Bengalis on December 30 in Myanmar's Rakhine State, according to police.


Two police constables namely Thant Zin Win and Kyaw Kyaw Moe was on their regular patrol on that day's evening in Sittwe, the state's capital when they're brutally beaten by a group of eight Bengalis as they tried to stop the Bengalis destroying tombs in a Chinese cemetery there.


The Bengalis used crowbars to attack the policemen, leaving them injured severely. And one of them was announced dead early morning the next day at the Sittwe hospital.


"This morning, a police force led by Lieutenant Police Major Thit Sann went there to search the offenders. According to information we received till 9am this morning, three suspects were arrested," said Hla Thein, the chairman of the information committee for the Rakhine State's government.


The case is now under police investigation.
