The network is planning to collect signatures nationwide in cooperation with civil societies to object the construction of dams along Thanlwin river.

The BRN has been constantly objecting the projects damming Thanlwin River, according to the report.

The Myanmar government signed a MoU with Thai and Chinese governments to initiate the project which is expected to generate 15000 Megawatts of electricity since 8 years ago.

The petition will be sent to the government and companies involved in the project.

The group also said they disapproved the hydropower projects between Myanmar government and EU.
