China defeats Myanmar 3-0 in Asiad men's volleyball preliminary

INCHEON, South Korea, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- China defeated Myanmar 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-18) in the Asiad men's volleyball tournament at the Ansan Sangroksu Gymnasium on Sunday.

China held the lead throughout the first two sets with its starting line-up. After head coach Xie Guochen brought in several young players, the Chinese team met more resistance from their opponents.

"All the players did a good job. Our goal is not only to win this match," said China's head coach Xie Guochen.

Chinese setter Li Runming said it was the first time they played against Myanmar and they were determined to go all out in every match.

Qatar defeated Chinese Taipei 3-0 and Japan downed Saudi Arabia 3-0 in their respective group opener.
