KUALA LUMPUR: THREE Myanmar workers died while another broke his leg after a 3m-high slope collapsed on them in a construction site in Ukay Perdana, Ampang, here yesterday.
The incident occurred when the workers were building a retaining wall at the site of Sierra Ukay single-storey terrace houses.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said rescuers rushed to the scene and found that two of the victims had been pulled out by their co-workers. One was severely injured, while another was dead.
"The rescuers started to search for two others before they found the victims' bodies buried 3m under the pile of earth."
He said the deceased were identified as Mohd Alam, Kowrim and Romzo Ali.

Joher Alam, 23, said they had started working at the site two weeks ago.
Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyman Azmin Ali, who went to the site yesterday, said the Ampang Jaya City Council had issued a stop-work order to the developer. This is to allow authorities to investigate the incident. A spokesman from developer IJM Corporation Bhd said it was gathering details on the incident and denied that it was a case of landslide, as reported by media. Additional reporting by C.
