Trinity Myanmar Mission
On Sunday, June 30th. members and friends of Trinity Presbyterian Church opened up their hearts and pockets to attend a fundraiser to benefit for a Mission in Burma/Myanmar. Big hearted culinary contest winning gourmet chef Jesse Jones donated his services by cooking up a luncheon for the attendees. Pastor Samuel M. Stone and Sophie, his wife, were circulating throughout the meal making sure that everyone was fed properly! According to Sophie, it was a success with several people donating much more than the $25.00 charge at the door. They recognized that it was a charity endeavor!
Thanks were given to the Sunday School children that planned this project under the guidance of Elder Sammy Saour and Sophie Stone.
The children from Trinity Dance group put on a dance in costume before the viands were served. Most importantly all the donors who contributed to the fund that allowed Trinity to reach the fundraising goal to help bring the first Gift of Life child from Myanmar (Burma) to have a heart surgery. A Celebrity Chef, Mr. Jones had volunteered his time, effort and expertise to help further the efforts of the Trinity Presbyterian Sunday School classes. Chef Jesse designed a menu fit for important people, the attendees! The menu consisted of: Apple-cider brined BBQ chicken, Roasted red bliss and herb potatoes, Mixed green salad, Sautéed green beans with roasted shallots and Burmese Desserts.
This fabulous meal was offered for the very low price of $20.00 per person in advance and $25.00 per person at the door. In deference to a large family, children were only being charged half price! Checks can still be made out to Trinity Presbyterian Church/Myanmar Mission and mailed to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 650 Pascack Road, Paramus, NJ 07652. One can access their website at office@TrinityFamily.org or call the Trinity office 201 262 8624.
A special thanks to Valley National Bank, Paramus for donating a beautiful basket for our Door Prize.
