The National League for Democracy leader is on a five-day visit to Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra and will make a number of speeches, including one at the Sydney Opera House on Wednesday evening.
She will meet NSW Governor Marie Bashir at Government House in Sydney on Wednesday afternoon.
The military regime in Myanmar has lifted many restrictions, prompting the removal of some international sanctions and paving the way for Ms Suu Kyi to enter national parliament after years of house arrest.
But Ms Suu Kyi will urge support for much wider democratic reforms and opening up in Myanmar.
