MYU TO ORGANIZE FUNDRAISING CONCERT IN MANDALAY

Myanmar Youth Union will organize a fundraising concert for poor
students and youths at National Theatre in Mandalay on February 1,
according to the Irrawaddy report.

The youth activist group held a press conference on the concert at
Orchid Hotel in Yangon Thursday.

The proceeds of the event will to opening of a vocational school which
will focus on youth empowerment and employment, according to chairman
of Myanmar Youth Union Zwe Yan Naing.

"This is not the fundraising event for the organization (MYU)," Zwe
Yan Naing said.

It is the first fundraising event organized by the group and the first
fundraising event was organized in Yangon Nation Theatre in first week
of August last year.

The group opened vocation courses including tailoring courses,
accounting courses, English language courses and computer courses in
delta Ayeyawady Region with the fund from the first concert.

"Mandalay locals demand the concert," said the chairman.
It will be sponsored by Tawwin Centre, Ayeyarwady Bank and
entrepreneurs from Mandalay.
