KATHMANDU, March 14: Known for his austerity measures, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has decided to return a total US$ 650 he received as travel allowance during his official visit to Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar to take part in the Third BIMSTEC Summit, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
Koirala led the Nepali delegation to the BIMSTEC Summit. MoFA said the amount returned by the prime minister will be deposited in the state treasury. Koirala, who chose to lead a very small delegation to the summit, was acclaimed for his austerity measure both at home and abroad.
