United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA) and donors will provide US$ 20 million to assist Myanmar with the nationwide census in 2014.
The signing ceremony between the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Kanbawza Bank (KBZ) took place on March 14 at Yangon's Chatrium Hotel.
Necessary expenses for taking census will be given out through KBZ bank.
"Under the current circumstances, only five percent of Myanmar population are having links with banks for their various transitions. In doing so, we think we will achieve better prospects than now," Ms. Janet Jackson, resident representative of UNFPA, said.
The cash management project is the first financial help providing system in Myanmar.
"The mobile banks are arranged for the places where there are no branches. The staff will be sent there from the nearest branches. We have already consulted with the UNFPA for the places where we could not reach," said Ma Nan Kham Naung, director of KBZ Bank.
