Vice-President Hamid Ansari will hold delegation level talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Yuanchao in Beijing tomorrow. Both the leaders are expected to discuss several issues of mutual importance. Border dispute between the two countries is likely to figure in the bilateral talks.
India has already expressed concern over showing Arunachal Pradesh in the map of China. The Vice President will also call on Chinese President Xi Jinping tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Minister of commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman who is accompanying the vice-president in his five-day visit to China is set to meet her Chinese counterpart Gao Hucheng tomorrow to discuss stagnating trade and investment between the two countries. Some agreements are expected to be signed at the end of talks between the two countries.
The Vice President has held talks with Myanmar President Thein Sein in Beijing today. Accompanied by Chinese Premiere Li Keqiang and Myanmar President Thein Sein, Mr Ansari later visited a joint exhibition organized by Ministry of External Affairs and the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
Mr Ansari arrived in China on June 26th to take part in the 60th anniversary of Panchsheel treaty and to hold bilateral talks with china.
It is the maiden visit of the Indian Vice-President to China since 1994. The then vice-President K.R . Narayanan had visited China in 1994.
