Australia-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce supports Myanmar Property Awards

A-MCC

The Australia-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce has joined the inaugural Myanmar Property Awards 2015 as a Supporting Association. The Chamber will be promoting the event to its members through various media including print, online, events and e-newsletters.

Established in early 2013, the Chamber has successfully increased awareness of Myanmar in just a short time as it continues to assist and support Australian companies, institutes and investors that are seeking to enter the Myanmar market. Michael Phin, the Chamber's Yangon-based executive director, recently spoke with Property Report about the organisation's active participation in the country's ever-evolving investment landscape and initiatives to foster strong bilateral trade and close economic ties between Australia and Myanmar.

How involved are Australian citizens in the region's property sector?

Australians are increasingly active in Asia and Myanmar and the Chamber's events and initiatives reflect the growing activity. There has been a heightened level of engagement in 2014 between Australia and Myanmar with the countries' roles as G20 and ASEAN chair respectively.

To what extent does the Chamber assist those looking for guidance and information about the Myanmar market?

The Australia-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce assists its members by providing regular market updates, briefings and larger initiatives such as trade missions and capacity building programs.

What was behind the Chamber's decision to partner with the first annual Myanmar Property Awards?

Understanding the dynamics of various property markets is essential and one of priority considerations for all companies investing in Asia. The Chamber's members also include a number of leading design, construction and engineering companies. We hope to see the Chamber's association with the Myanmar Property Awards 2015 provide our members with additional information and insights on the market.
