Ms Albertina Soliani, an Italian politician and founder of the Associazione Amicizia Italia-Birmania, said they welcomed the reform process in Myanmar but were concerned about the possible suspension of the process.
"We observed the reform processes in education, health and legal affairs. These reform processes must be carried on. And it must be genuine," she said.
The Italian visitors met with political leaders and civic groups, including the National League for Democracy, to discuss the reform process and any difficulties they were facing.
NLD party member U Tin Oo said, "The Italian guests arrived in Myanmar to give encouragement to democratization process in Myanmar."
Members of the group included those who were new to Myanmar and those who had visited before.
The Italian delegation laid a wreath of red roses rand sang the Italian national anthem in front of the Yangon monument to General Aung San and his comrades, who were assassinated on July 19, 1947.
According to their website, members of the party included relatives of the World War II Italian resistance forces.
