New Longmatra jubilee celebration concludes

The New Longmatra Baptist Lithro has observed its 50th years of church in the village from December 26 to 28 with Reverend Tsangkhuchu, Secretary USBLA; Akhala, Associate Secretary USBKA, Kiphire; and Setsiba, President of LLSAM as the main speakers of the three days jubilee.

Exhorting at the devotional service on December 28, Minister for Power C Kipili Sangtam congratulated the New Longmatra Baptist Lithro for attaining 50 years of the church formation. Urging the congregation to have self discipline, he said that parents should have the proper knowledge in molding up their children according to the present environment.

The chief guest said that through jubilee one should revive both spiritually and outwardly. Saluting the old age group of the village, he said it was the blessings of the pioneers wherein they could celebrate the fruits of Christianity in the village.

Emphasising importance on girl child, C Kipili Sangtam said that boy and girl should have equal opportunity in the society. While citing women as the mother of the world, he said mother in the family should teach their children to have patience in their life. He further appealed the gathering to make significant change in their life through the jubilee celebration.

He also appealed the village leaders to work for the welfare of the society and community. The chief guest also made generous donation in cash to the village.

Muthsodang, Head DB of Longmatra town, also spoke at the programme, while Reverend T Tsangkhuchu shared the words of God.

It may be mentioned that New Longmatra Village is situated under Longmatra Area of Kiphire district, some 45 km away from Kiphire Headquarter. During the informal discussion after the church service, C Kipili Sangtam informed that some legislators from Nagaland would visit Yangon in Myanmar in the second week of January to meet the Naga leaders in Myanmar in order to build the brotherhood relationship with the Naga Myanmar.
