Five Myanmar artists had been allowed admission to the Global Network Watercolour Painter Association (GNWP) based in Japan, according to the Myanmar Painting and Woodcarving Association.
Myanmar artists are Maung Maung Hla Myint, Ni Po Oo, Hla Htun Aung, Moe Nyo and Khin Maung Myint.
The GNWP is an international organisation of watercolorists founded in 2008.
"The delegates from the GNWP Watercolour Association selected five Myanmar artists as their members. They had chosen me and Ni Po Oo, Secretary of Myanmar Painting and Woodcarving Association. The remaining three are selected after looking their water paintings and art works," said Maung Maung Hla Myint, Chairman of Myanmar Fine Arts Association.
"I'm very proud for participating of the GNWP Watercolour Association and it is also a good chance for Myanmar's artist development," he added.
The artist members will have to send their water paintings to the GNWP once a year and the water painting shows will be hosted alternatively by member nations.
Arrangements are being planned to make a water painting art show in Myanmar in November this year. The show will display the water paintings of 30 artists from Japan, South Korea and Myanmar.
