Myanmar marine forces are now patrolling the Nat River on the Myanmar - Bangladeshi border to prevent illegal fishing, immigration and trafficking of narcotic drugs.
The patrols aim mainly at stemming the number of Bangladeshi fishing boats entering Myanmar waters.
"After the Nasaka, or Border Immigration Headquarters has been abolished, Myanmar Naval Force is now taking security measures along the river. There are four naval vessels taking security works. They are patrolling along Nat River and along the beach," said locals.
