YANGON TO GET FIRST CLIMBING GYM

Yangon, Myanmar's commercial city, will soon see a climbing gym as one
of their firsts in those years, 7Day reported.

There is currently no climbing gym in the former capital.

Win Ko Ko, chairman of TCCM, said that the lack of such facility is
due to the heavy cost to establish.

"If any climbers need training, they have to go to Mandalay. Hiking is
a hobby with substantial cost," he said.

He also added the hikers in need of training would found it
satisfactory to have a climbing gym in their city.

Myo Thant, chairman of Universities Hiking and Trekking Association
said it would be a welcome move for local hiking and trekking
enthusiasts.

A combined team of US and Myanmar hikers are planning to make a trip
to Galamrazi Mountain which they claimed to be the highest despite
official status of the second highest. They are expected to embark on
the trip on August 13.
