The Japanese government is planning to provide loans of 60 billion
Japanese Yen for infrastructural development projects in Japan,
according to a Bangkok Post report.
Japanese premier Shinzo Abe is poised to make the offer at a special
summit on the occasion of 40th anniversary of Japan-ASEAN friendly
ties on December 13.
Myanmar president Thein Sein and Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe
are due to meet separately on December 15.
They are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on assistances
to health sector in Myanmar.
Premier Abe pledged 90 billion Yen in loan and aid packages to Myanmar
in previous May which made the amount of loan to Myanmar 150 billion
Yen in total.
The Thilawa special economic zone project is due to start in 2015.
Thilawa is one of three ambitious special economic zones in Myanmar
where Myanmar and Japanese firms have reached agreements to cooperate
in various infrastructural development projects in Thilawa Special
Economic Zone.
