The Chinese embassy in Myanmar Sunday told the Global Times that the embassy's regular work has not been disturbed by Friday's march by local activists to the embassy in Yangon.

Around 40 protesters marched to Chinese embassy in Yangon on Friday to mark the first anniversary of the government's violent crackdowm on Letpadaungtaung Protesters' Camp, elevenmyanmar.com reported on Sunday.

They demanded the Letpadaungtaung copper mine project should close down, the Wan Paung Company should leave Myanmar and actions should be taken against people behind the violent crackdown on protesters.

According to the report, activists started their march from Yangon's City Hall on Friday afternoon. The protest ended at around 5 pm peacefully.
