Myanmar Film Development Company to go public

YANGON - The Myanmar Film Development Company has announced that it will start selling shares in a bid to help boost the local film industry.
Myanmar Film Development Company was founded by local directors and actors and currently finances film production, cinemas and plans to expand into trading and manufacturing equipment.
"This public company gives first priority to the people from the film industry. Our goals are for the development of the film industry and for the benefits of the people from the film industry," said director Maung Maung Oo (Snow White), one of the company's founding members.
Shares are to go on sale soon and will range from Ks 10,000 (US$ 10) to 50 million (US$ 50,000) and priority will be given to people from within the film industry.
"We will invite for shares based on the finance requirement for each type of business," added the director.
Founding members of Myanmar Film Development comprise of: director Pa Gyi Soe Moe, actors Lwin Moe, Pyay Ti Oo, Nay Toe, Lu Min, actress Htun Eaindra Bo, producer and director Maung Maung Oo (Snow White), Myeik Tin Aung, Su One and Win Kyi.
