MYANMAR TO HOST ASEAN COORDINATION COMMITTEE ON INVESTMENT MEETING

Myanmar, the alternate ASEAN chairman, will host 62nd meeting of ASEAN
Coordination Committee on Investment next weekend in its new capital
Nay Pyi Taw, according to the China's state media Xinhua.

Investment officials from ASEAN members countries are expected to
attend the two-day meeting on January 10-11.

ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Treaty will be discussed at the meeting.

Issues related to "amendment of unpermitted accounts included in the
treaty and ongoing work programs" will be discussed at the meeting,
according to the report.

The ASEAN Coordination Committee on Investment oversees the promotion
of investment in the region and relaxation of rules and regulations by
members of 10-nation bloc.

ASEAN foreign ministers' meeting is also due to take part in Bagan,
the ancient city of Myanmar, on January 15-18.

Myanmar officially assumed the ASEAN chairmanship as from January 1.

More than 20 meetings including the ASEAN Summit where leaders of
member countries and dialogue partners get together are scheduled to
be hosted in Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw in 2014.
