TRAINING CENTRES HAVE PROSPECTS TO GROW

Some training centres in Myanmar could transform themselves into
private universities, according to a Yangon Media Group report, which
cite principals of some training centres.

Principal Aye Kyaw of MHR, one of the most famous private school,
predicted that there would be more private universities than the
government-funded ones in the future, highlighting the higher presence
by international universities in Myanmar.

"I am not sure, but the connection between a private school and
international academic institution may be allowed as the first step,"
said Aye Kyaw.

The parliament has recently set the deadline for passing the education
bills to allow private schools ahead of the next academic season.
The bills have been delayed in the parliament for nearly two years.

Dr Nay from Victorian University College pointed out the weakness of
the private entities that most students chose government universities
over the private universities.
