Myanmar has scheduled to hold the ceremony to award Outstanding Motion
Picture Awards, the most prestigious awards in Myanmar movie world, on
December 29, according to the government-run newspaper Myanma Alinn
report.
The award evening will be hosted by Thuwanna National Indoor Stadium
in Yangon, according to an official of Myanmar Motion Picture
Association.
The Academy award ceremony which had been held yearly in Nay Pyi Taw
since the country has got its new capital, returned to Yangon last
year.
"We will make the 2012 Academy award ceremony the best and the most
successful," said Aye Kyu Lay, vice president of Myanma Motion Picture
Association.
The number of academy awards to be awarded in the evening was not disclosed.
Seven films shortlisted for the awards are director Aung Ko Latt's
Kayan Beauty, U, Letpan, Mway Khan Htike Thu Phyit Par Say, Tein Min
Thamee Ye Danaryi, Amone Mee Tauk and Mawkin U Dan.
