BRITISH MPS RECOMMENDED MORE AIDS TO MYANMAR

UK lawmakers have recommended the UK government to provide more aids to Myanmar, according to a BBC report, despite human rights concerns.

The recommended amount of yearly aids is from £60m to £100m, according to the report.

The International Development Committee also said the government should help reform the nation despite criticisms.
The Southeast Asian nation was formerly sanctioned by the European Union, including the UK government.
The economic sanctions imposed on Myanmar were lifted in 2013, following a series of reforms initiated by the quasi-civilian government.

Sir Malcolm Bruce, the committee's chairman, noted, ""While a host of problems remain, a key opportunity exists for UK development programmes to help deliver informational change."
