KDDI AMBITIOUS TO INVEST IN MYANMAR TELECOM INDUSTRY

KDDI, the Japanese telecommunications corporation, is mulling over a move to invest in infrastructural sector of Myanmar's telecom industry, according to The Voice report.


Win Aung, president of the Reublic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said the Japanese firm is interested to invest in Myanmar's telecom industry in an electrical and telecom talks in UMFCCI.
The company contested in the last year's telecom licenses auction, but could not beat Ooredoo and Telenor.


After losing out the bids to provide telecom services, the company has switched its focus on importing telecommunications equipment.


According to the industrial sources, KDDI is also planning a joint venture deal with the government-owned service provider Myanma Posts and Telecommunications.
