Myanmar President Thein Sein hosted a dinner to selected Myanmar athletes who participated in XXVII SEA Games hosted by country for the first time in decades on December 30, according to local newspaper Daily Eleven.
The dinner at Nay Pyi Taw MICC hall was attended by President Thein Sein, vice presidents and presidents of sports federations.
Myanmar athletes won 233 medals—86 golds, 62 silvers and 85 bronze—and stood second in the standing.
"I congratulate athletes who won golds, silvers and bronzes and acknowledge hard work of athletes who missed awards," the President said at the dinner.
The dinner was also attended the lower house and upper house speaker and the deputy commander-in-chief of Defence Services.
Thein Sein also said in his address that the XXVII SEA Games reconnected Myanmar with the international community.
