Taiwanese trade promotion body said it would organize tours to Myanmar in March to scout the business opportunities in the Southeast Asian country, according to a Channel NewsAsia report.

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) sees opportunities in the rising demand of agricultural and industrial machinery in Myanmar, according to the Taiwan trade governing body.

The organization sees high demand of machinery and electricity in Myanmar as the country's 60 million population has poor access to electricity.

As the frequent electricity outages in economic districts of Myanmar would mean opportunities for Taiwanese products, according to TAITRA.

The economic delegation of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council would visit the country on its trip to Myanmar and Laos on March 3-12.

The delegation will include executives of agricultural machinery, power supplies and auto parts manufacturing industries.
