Myanmar Parliament speaker to attend Asian Inter-Parliamentary Assembly

Myanmar's Union Parliament speaker will attend the 34th Asian Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in Brunei, says an MP.
AIPA is due to take place from September 18 to 22 and Speaker Thura Shwe Mann is scheduled to leave for Brunei on September 18, said MP Khin Maung Yi, who will be a member of the Myanmar delegation to attend the assembly.
" We will discuss four topics related four parliamentary committees. As a topic on the role of women is included, our delegation will also comprise a woman parliamentarian," said Khin Maung Yi.
The committees due to discuss in the assembly are security committee, economic community committee, social community committee and women's parliamentary committee.
Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand have been invited to attend AIPA as observers, The Brunei Times reported.
