Mr.Teerat Ratanasevi, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office said Premier Yingluck welcomed Khin Aung Myint during his official visit, which would greatly contribute to the Thai- Myanmar relationship, in terms of legislation in particular. Both expressed gratitude for the close relationship that Thailand and Myanmar have shared and affirmed to continue developing cooperation for the benefit of the people of both countries.
According to Khin Aung Myint, he hopes the demarcation of the border will be accomplished soon in order to create a stable sense of security along the border of the two countries enabling both sides to move onto further development. Yingluck agreed to this thought to eliminate trade and investment conflicts, so that trade and private corporate investments can be expanded and to prepare for the ASEAN Community.
Prime Minister Yingluck said that Thailand would support Myanmar in its being the host for the SEA Games 2013, and in being the leader of ASEAN for the year 2014. She at the same time expressed Thailand's support for Myanmar's transition to democracy and reconciliation movements. Yingluck also assured that Thailand would not allow anti- Myanmar government groups and minorities to use Thailand as a base in demonstrating against the government of Myanmar. Khin Aung Myint thanked the Thai Prime Minister for her cooperation on Myanmar labors and admired Yingluck for being able to come through each challenge. The Speaker also wished her luck and success.
