RESIDENTS across Bromsgrove, Rubery and Catshill will fall silent on Sunday (November 10) to remember those who have fought in conflicts over the years and for those serving in the armed forces today. Here are the times of this year's Remembrance Sunday commemorations.
Bromsgrove
The parade musters in the High Street (outside Argos) at 9.55am ready to move off at 10.10am. It will proceed down the High Street, giving an eyes left to the Odd Fellows Memorial, before travelling into Church Street, across Market Street and up to St John's Church. There, there will be the Remembrance Service, two-minute silence and laying of wreaths. After the church service, the procession, in the same order will march down to the Burma Star Memorial and the new memorial.
As the parade gets to the memorials, it will split and form a line between both memorials.
After the Last Post, Exhortation and Reveille those in the parade will lay their wreaths.
Member of Parliament, Bromsgrove District Council, Bromsgrove Royal British Legion (RBL) and Bromsgrove Royal British Legion Women's Section will lay wreaths at both memorials.
The Burma Star Association and The Far East Prisoners of War will lay their wreaths on the Burma Star Memorial.
All other organisations laying wreath can choose which memorial to lay their wreath on.
All those taking part in the parade are invited to the Brewell Head Social Club where light refreshments and live entertainment will be provided.
