MYANMAR’S 2012 ACADEMY AWARDS PRESENTED

Myanmar held its Academy award presentation ceremony for films
screened in 2012 on December 29 evening Yangon.


Yun Yun, a child actor, won a special Academy award for role in "Tein
Min Tha Mee Ye's Danaryi" to everyone's surprise.
Myanmar's Motion Picture Association, the movie industry governing
body which presents the award, has only presented three special awards
to child actors in the history.


Renowned director Aung Ko Latt won his long awaited Director of
Photography award for his breathtaking work "Kayen Beauty".
Pyay Ti Oo won his second Academy for supporting actor role in
Director Wine's "Letpan".


Phwe Phwe, the young movie star, collected her first Academy award for
the leading role in "Letpan".
Chaw Yadana also won her first Academy award in her career in
supporting role in the movie "Egg".


Ko Zaw (AryoneOo) won his first Director of Arts Academy award with
the movie "Egg".


The awards for screenplay, the supporting actor role and the best
picture are not presented this year.
