Norwegian telecom company Telenor ASA (TELN: Quote,TELNY.PK, TELNF.PK) reported Wednesday that its first-quarter net income was NOK 4.05 billion or NOK 2.70 per share, higher than last year's NOK 3.68 billion or NOK 2.43 per share.
In the first quarter, Telenor Group reported revenues of NOK 30.21 billion, 19 percent higher than NOK 25.32 billion a year ago. Organic revenue growth was 7.6 percent.
EBITDA grew 5 percent organically despite start-up costs in Myanmar and continued high handset sales.
Looking ahead for fiscal 2015, the company said it is raising organic revenue growth expectations to 5 percent -7 percent, combined with a stronger EBITDA margin of 34 percent-36 percent.
