Written by Admin on October 11, 2013. Posted in News, Travel and Leisure

Myanmar's state-owned insurance firm Myanma Insurance has offered
insurance package for tourists visiting the Southeast Asian country,
according to Eleven Media Group.

The insurance can be bought by the tour agency, mentioning the name of
the tourist, his/her passport number and routes ahead of the tour.

One unit of the insurance may cost from K 0.5 million to 10 million
and will require the premium up to K 2000 per week.

The insurance will cover any damages to the tourists caused and
deliberate damages will not be covered.

The Myanma Hotels and Tourism Industry, the government tourism
governing agency, and the Tourism Federation are planning to help the
tour agencies easily buy the insurances.

Myanmar has recently allowed the private insurance companies to
operate in the country where the insurance industry is monopolized by
the government. But, they are still allowed within six categories.
