Japan has pledged USD 69 million to develop infrastructures and improved living standards of people in conflict zones in Myanmar, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Analysts said the aids reflected Japan's intention to shrink China's influence in Myanmar, according to the report.

China has its hands in peace process of the neighbouring Myanmar, sending delegates to the peace talks for conflicts along its border.

The assistance will focus on providing accommodation and food to the internally displaced people in refugee camps.

Most of them fled the conflicts between the government troops and ethnic armed groups.

The government is now putting finishing touches to the peace agreement with all ethnic armed groups.

The projects would be approved by the Myanmar government and implemented with the agreement of ethnic minority groups, according to Mikio Numada, Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar.
