Myanmar has begun to issue passports to citizens in 15 major cities of the country to smoothen their way out to the country, according to the government-run Myanma Alinn report.

Most of the people leaving the country are in pursuit of overseas jobs as the nation failed to deliver employment for most of its youthful labour force.

The passports which were available only in Yangon and Mandalay, two largest cities of the country, are now issued at region and state government offices.

The issuance of passports at the local government offices started as from January 2 and will be available ever from thence.

It took months to get a passport a few years ago and more than two years ago, it was available only in Yangon.

Myanmar has recently signed visa exemption deals with a number of ASEAN member nations.

The government agency is also offering plans to issue passport via door-to-door system for the elders and the unfit persons.
